Water Cooling System

The entire engine and exhaust system is cooled by a water line coming off the jet tunnel. Water is forced from the jet, to the exhuast, then to the head, and then returned to the start of the jet tunnel. All the lines were brittle and in bad condition. I went to Kragen and found some radiator hose by the foot and attached it with stainless steel hose clamps.

Here's a closer look at the plumbing of the system. When we were first messing with the engine we would connect a garden hose to the system so that we could run the engine without the danger of overheating the motor. You can also see the bell device we machined out of aluminum to activate the decompression system which helps to be able to turn the engine over when starting. If you need to make one here's a scale drawing of what we made.
